andrew bird is a fine multi-instrumentalist. the song his band performs here is called "imitosis". he plays violin, guitar and delay unit, and whistles like he is brian wilson's theremin. his drummer plays electric piano, and his bass player plays, well... bass! not to mention an appearance by the addams family's leslie rotors!

feist is a new favorite. leslie sings in a delicate campfire voice. great instrumentation on this song, a spare banjo and trumpet, along with keyboards, bass and drums and a singalong chorale!

brandi carlile is one of my favorites. she is so full of emotion when she sings it makes me want to cry. i also love her use of vernacular in songs, like the word "bucks" etc. and then to top it off, she is a cutie!
